Adding records to Project subobject

Hello all:
I created a new subobject to the Project object. I have no trouble navigating to access the new subobject. However, I am unable to add a new record to the subobject. I have created subobjects earlier and have had no such trouble. 
We are on SaaS version 15.5.
Is there something I am missing?
I have attached screenshots for reference.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

If the system is working without problems and it is not a cache issue then does your user ID have the rights.
That is did you create the subobject with the same user ID with which you do not see the new button?
If you give the rights to another user can the user create new items?

Hello Martti: Yes, I created the subobject as the system admin. Though, strangely, I came back the next day and I was able to add records. Not sure if there was a process that updated the rights. I will close this case for now. Thank you for the response! Truly appreciate it.
