  • 1.  Total cost in Cost Plan

    Posted Sep 09, 2019 03:34 AM
    Hello,

As you know, The total cost in cost plan is the total unit * the rate of the resource.

My issue : Our resources can move from Financial department to other one and so the Rate is updated.
My total cost in cost plan is in this case updated for in the past and so we are not able to have the real cost of the project.

For example : A project has been done in 2018 and has one resource. Total unit done for this project is 10 days
This resource was on deparment DEP1 with a rate = 100 euros by days
in 2019, resource is now on department DEP2 with a rate = 200 euros by days

In my cost plan for 2018 :

    Total cost = 200*10 => 2000 euros
    Actual Cost = 100*10 = 1000 euros
    remaining cost = - 1000 euros

    Total Unit = 10 days
    Actuals unit = 10 days
    Remaining unit = 0

How can I have the good cost for my project ? I would to see cost = 1000 euros

    Thanks for your help

    Hi Olivier,
    Please see thread below:

The current rate is picked and no historical rates are kept.
