    All,

Has anyone else seen an issue with the process engines not showing up on the "Process Engines" screen in the Administration side of the house?

We migrated the on-premise test environment to AWS, and we were thus forced to stop using the out of the box multicast and start using JDBC Ping. All seems to be OK, except the process engines are not showing up:

I've blanked out the originals (from production) and as can be seen the last heartbeat was back in June (when the backup was taken).

The processes appear to be running though:

Graphical user interface, applicationDescription automatically generated with medium confidence

How does the Process Engines screen monitor heartbeats? Is it via multicast (which we are no longer using)?

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

    Paul

    Hi Paul

The heartbeat is getting updated and you can see the time stamp updated, the problem is process engine Icon is turning grey and it looks like its unable to communicate. Will it be possible to share the properties.xml and are you running app and BG on single server?

Hi Suman. Thanks for the response. The fix was as simple as setting the flags in properties.xml. As we migrated the code "as is" I assumed (wrongly) that we'd inherit the setup as well. It looks like the code came from a node in the production cluster that wasn't running a process engine either in the app or in the bg service.

We have two app servers in the new AWS environment each on runs an app and a bg and I've set things up to run the processes within the bg service. AT the moment one of them is in an indeterminate state, but that's for tomorrow to work out.

    Thanks Paul

On that point if you are doing auto scaling of servers you would want to ensure to preserve the logs for any server which has been descaled.
