Project Detail Reporting

Hi - We're looking for reporting that captures the project information available on the details tab of the project in the modern UX (project summary, benefits, risk, scope, various attributes, etc.). Ideally it's something we could schedule to run on a periodic basis to share with a broader set of users (vs. relying on access to the tool). I searched the available OOTB Jaspersoft reports and didn't see anything that captured this information. I reached out to Broadcom and they confirmed nothing OOTB was available. How have others solved this problem? Have you created a custom report with something like Tableau or Jaspersoft? If so, do you have a template you could share? Thanks!

Hi Charlene, 

Based on what is configured in Project summary page and what attributes have to be reported, this report can be configured through Jaspersoft studio. There are a set of OOTB reports which can be useful, however, you would need to create a new report if at all any custom information is required. I hope when you have discussed with Broadcom, they would have guided you through Project Storyboard or Project Status Detail reports.

We had a similar requirement few months ago, where Project Storyboard report was not meeting our requirements. We had a few additional project status report indicators than OOTB and additional information regarding Risks/Issues/CR's and more information was expected in terms of financials with s-curves. I did set up a new project summary dashboard which captures, project summary information, key project dates and milestones, key financials summary, project status trend, with a detailed comparison of status report indicators (current status vs prior status for each status indicator), a summary of high priority risks, issues, CR's, and lastly information on planned vs budget vs actuals monthly burn rate with cumulative s-curves. 

Regarding the usage of this report, PMs when they do a status report in clarity they use this summary dashboard content to export as PDF and send it to project sponsor/steering, committee members.

Yes, I agree.

Project Storyboard its the sum of all the important information regarding a project, you can schedule to run every 15 day, take into account that you only have 200 characters on the TO, CC & CCO for email addresses, you its better to create a general account like [e-mail].
Also, you can improve this report with Jasper Studio PRO, add the attributes you need and arrange the layout. Take into account you need that those attributes be on the datawarehouse.
