Filtering on Dashboards in Advanced Reporting

Dear Broadcom Community,
I've tried to search for relating topics but couldn't find anything relevant.
There seems to be some logic behind Dashboard's filtering panel as some of them will allow me to set specific filters for the whole dashboard (no matter the amount of Ad Hoc Veiws included) while others won't.

One of the dashboards that I have created, when "Show filter dashlet as pop-up window' was checked allowed me to specify filters on the whole

Upon creating another one, also based on few Ad hoc Views the filter group is completely blank, and while scheduling the Dashboard the "Parameters" tab is also grayed out. 

Is there something on dashboard/ad hoc view level that determines the possibility to filter on Dashboards?
There were no pre-filters set on Ad Hoc Views at all.
