Object Name Auto-Numbering Jumping Values

Hi there!

In our project object, I set the name as auto-numbering with the scheme: XXX-Project-00000001, setting the numeric starting point to 1.
When I tested it however, I noticed that it started the first instance as XXX-Project-00000002. The next as XXX-Project-00000004, and so on. 
Why is the numeric part jumping next values?

Hi Rhine,

 

I believe the issue comes from people clicking the create button, which generates the new auto-number, but then they exit without saving any content on the new record.
