Reports and jobs under Home tab

Under reports and jobs --> Reports tab --> In reports tab we see advanced reporting reports also, but under Advanced reporting we have roles and using roles we can control access to reports, so is that same roles and access restriction is applied to reports under Reports tab?

Am I causing confusion?

These both report to the same reports on the backend.
As a best practice, assign those Advanced Reporting permissions to a group, so they are inherited by the user.
