  • 1.  Create Unplanned Task from timesheet screen is giving error

    Hello Everyone,

              In version 15.8 - we seeing an issue where creating a new task from the timesheet screen is giving the error as below:

       

          The unplanned task gets added even after showing the above error, but in version 15.4 it navigates correctly with below message.

     

       Has anyone seen/faced this issue?

        Appreciate your feedback - suggestion on this issues.

    Hi Dhruvin
    The error points to an access right missing.
    I believe with the admin user you will not get an error.
    Could you try to find a reproducible pattern?
    Might want to check the user rights to see which right is complaining about. Then we can discuss if the design is right or not.
    Have you checked the app-ca.log file what it complains about?

    Hello Joxi,

             Yesterday after posting the message we drilled down further to check what is causing this issue, and it is with this right "Project - Edit Project Plan".
             Many of our end users are given this right at the instance level and hence they are able to create unplanned task from timesheet screen in v 15.4.
             When the same users tries to do this action on 15.8 it gives above error.
             With admin user this issue was not reproducible - so we figured out that since admin user have "Timesheet Edit -All" rights and hence this issue is not coming.
             When we remove this right we get the error and vice-versa for the users who are facing the issue - if we give this Global right then issue is not happening.
             Having said so we have opened a support case and the engineer assigned to the case was able to reproduce this issue on 15.4.
             We are waiting to hear back after the internal review - whether it is a bug, as this blocking point for our end users to migrate to new release.
