    Hi all,

I just received a newsletter from Rego where they mention additional updates about Clarity PPM SaaS Migration and states that Broadcom has announced this. I do not see that I have received any newer announcements from Broadcom (last one received on 29 October 2019) on the migration and I'm quires if others have received some, as then I need to figure out where I'm supposed to sign up for it.

    /Pia

    Hi Pia

We have sent the the attached sample letter. We have sent this communication on 29th October 2019 and if you haven;t received then either you are not the primary support contact for DSV or the email landed in spam. If you have any additional questions please reach out at clarityppm.saas@broadcom.com

    Hi Suman,

Thank you for fast reply. I have received this letter, it just seemed from Rego's newsletter today that further information had been sent out, and that was the information I thought I was missing. Newsletter from Rego is attached in this email and I'm referring to their 3rd topic "Additional Updates About Your Clarity PPM SaaS Migration".

In my opinion there's a problem Suman.  I've received more information about this migration from a third party vendor than I have from Broadcom.  That to me is an issue and makes me wonder why can't Broadcom send this type of communication.

I tend to agree with Garrett on the receiving more information from Rego than Broadcom on this.  THis makes sense to a point.  BC already has our business and Rego is trying to get it.

Specifically on this last round of communication there is appears to be a discrepancy between the email Suman attached and Rego.

    Broadcom Email from above:
The Clarity PPM SaaS data center migration is scheduled to begin January 1, 2020 and all customer
migrations will be completed by June 30, 2020. Broadcom has defined a detailed migration
schedule and will communicate the schedule to customers 30-60 days prior to their scheduled date

    Rego Email: Attached
All new customers will be set up in the new data center beginning January 28, 2020. U.S.-based transitions will start in March of 2020; this is a change from the original transition date of January 2020. Other regions will have slightly different timelines

Can you confirm if Broadcom is still on schedule to have us all migrated by June 30th?

It is Broadcom's intention to provide timely and accurate information related to the Clarity PPM SaaS transition to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) service.

The intent of this message is to provide a quick update about the progress we are making with respect to GCP.  As of Jan-2020, we have started provisioning new customers in the GCP based SaaS platform.

We have also made progress towards transitioning current Clarity PPM SaaS customers to GCP, however the original Clarity PPM SaaS transition timeline, communicated in October 2019, has been delayed. We intend to begin Clarity PPM SaaS transitions in March 2020. The initial set of customers targeted to transition to GCP, in March, have been contacted by their Broadcom point of contact (PoC). These customers are now preparing for their transition.

It is paramount for Broadcom to provide customers with accurate details about the SaaS transition and the associated schedule. Broadcom will be posting information to the Clarity Community shortly. Be on the lookout for Clarity PPM Community posts related to the following topics:

    1. Latest status on the GCP service
      • Updates related to new Clarity customers being provisioned in the GCP SaaS infrastructure running on the PostgreSQL database
      • Updates regarding ongoing customer outreach, transition progress, and lessons learned
      • How to obtain SOC1 or SOC2 reports for either the GCP Data Center or the Clarity PPM Service
    2. Preparing for the SaaS transition
      • We will post SaaS Transition presentations for your internal communication and planning purposes
      • We will post an updated FAQ and a Program Guide to help you map out a series of activities to be aware of before, during and after the transition
    3. Single sign-on (SSO) materials
      • Broadcom is finalizing the details of the GCP-based SSO solution to replace the current OnDemand Portal solution
      • We will post the documentation for the new SSO solution for your internal communication and planning purposes

If you have any additional questions please contact us at clarityppm.saas@broadcom.com.

Thank you for your continued support.

    David,

Some quick feedback.  This is an email that should have been sent out a month or so ago instead of posted in a discussion like this.  In my opinion, everyone who needs this info will not read this post.

Hi Garrett - I appreciate the feedback. It was not until Jan-28-2020 that Broadcom started provisioning new customers in the GCP based SaaS platform.

To your point about communicating to a wider audience, we intend to initiate a blog series on the Clarity PPM Community. We will establish a regular communication cadence in order to provide updates and relevant information re., the SaaS transition to GCP.

    Thank you,

    Dave

    David,

I still don't understand why an email hasn't been sent since Jan 28th with an update.  Is there a reason why a blog was chosen over email communication?  Personally, for me I would prefer an email that came directly to me instead of having to sign in and see if there were any updates in the blog.

Just so you know it wasn't until last week that I realized that I wasn't getting certain email communications from the Community site because it was getting blocked.  The reason was because it wasn't coming from @broadcom.com.  I'm not sure if that will reduce the effectiveness of the blog.

I will add one more voice offrustration about the lack of communication from Broadcom.  They need to be much more proactive about this because it stirred a lot of concern with customers back in October, then nothing has been proactively communicated since then.  It has been left up to customers to ask for information or to get it from 3rd party resources.  It has left a number of us very unsettled.

Hi Jon - Thank you for your input. With the progress we have made towards transitioning current Clarity PPM SaaS customers to GCP, we are in a better position to communicate information more frequently about the SaaS transition to GCP.

    Thank you,

    Dave
