    Hi

I have installed CA PPM integration add in into MS Project
MS project versionInstalled 32 bit of the Plug in the new interface
    using CA PPM v 15.5.1

    Question

I can save a schedule from MSP into PPM
But after opening a Project in MSP and adding new task from an excel spread sheet.
I get this error  Project Save failed
My you please advise me what might be the cause of this error
If someone have ever faced such or if there are any logs we can check to find the full details of this error

The resources are okay, Task Names do not exceed the PPM Limit

    Thank you

    Hello Sibusiso,

This version of MSP is not supported when using Clarity PPM 15.5.1 (MSI-based is the supported version). I cannot guarantee that the issue is not coming from here.

Are you copy/pasting the tasks from another existing project file? Please check this: https://ca-broadcom.wolkenservicedesk.com/external/article?articleId=10395

    Best regards

    Hi
I have tried other options, like trying another MSP schedule,  it does save without issues,  so I was thinking it might be with some fields in my MSP project schedule which are causing this ,
With this error it is just that it doesn't give the details of the actual problem.

I am hoping from your experience  what usually causes the integration to bring such an error ,
Cause when its resources, task name exceed ppm limit it does specify.

    Thank you

Did you check the KB article I sent? This may come from a copy/paste issue. As you mention that the issue appears after adding a task from an Excel spreadsheet, can you try the same steps and instead of copy/pasting, type the information instead?

I would check the app-ca.log on the Clarity server (if you are in a SaaS env, change the action in the url to #action:security.logs if you are logged in as an administrator).

Sometimes issues with misconfigured MSP Field Mappings, NSQL lookup queries on a (e.g. task) attribute that isn't working correctly, etc., won't always yield a clear error in the MSP interface; sometimes you'll even get no error at all initially, until you try to do some later action like saving.  Things like that, but a list of things that aren't exhaustive, so you have to check where else the error details can be found to try and get a better idea of where to begin.

    Hi,
start and finish dates are correct? In MSP they can be empty, in clarity not.
Are you using Text1 or Text3 fields?

    Hi

I have been checking from the logs as mentioned or suggested
looking at the error suggesting that there is a null value ''N''
I double check my schedule in MS Project I found that when I import it from excel it adds extra fields at the bottom of my schedule (just question marks without any words)
So I had to remove all the extra lines It does go through, only if my Mapping from excel I  included tasks not resources and assignments

when I include resources and assignments i brings the same error
I am still checking what might be the cause

    Thank you for your support
