Attribute data to show in List layout after its hidden

Hi All,

 

I am facing a issue, which I am trying to bring the value of attribute in List layout after its hidden in Create and Edit Layout.

 

For string text attribute if hidden and value required is checked the data will be displayed but for boolean attribute there is no choice.Facing the issue for Resource object.

 

Could anyone help me please.

If I understand correctly you went to object --> views --> Fields and made the attribute hidden. So the issue if only for boolean attribute. Is that correct?

Ummmmmm : can you even have such a thing as a mandatory ("value required") boolean attribute?  Surely that makes no sense?

 

( if its mandatory, it must have a value, so if it is boolean it can only have a "true" value (since blank/unset = "false" ) )

I have a faint recollection of a boolean field being required (and causing a pain).

By definition can a boolean attribute have a null value?

Sorry for the confusion caused.

 

Yes, object --> views --> Fields and made the attribute hidden.

 

for both the Text and Boolean attribute to show in List layout is there any workaround for it?

I checked the text and it does show up

If the text is given as value required the data will appear. But its not.

The clarity version which we use is the same:

 

But for us we are not able to get both Text and Boolean data details in the List layout after its hidden.

 

One thing different we have done is .. We have checked the value required in the Fields section not in the attribute tab for the object (Resource).

I'm a little bit confused by what you are trying to achieve ; why can you not just un-hide the fields if you want to see them on the List view?

I'm sorry I am still confused* ; if the requirement is to be able to see a field on the list view but not on the create&edit view - this is easily done, but not by making the field "hidden", just by not placing on the create&edit views.

 

Further control about whether a field can be seen on the list view can also be achieved by various security options.

 

* - I am confused because you seem to be concerned with the setting of the various flags in Clarity ("hidden", "value required") and not what the actual requirement is?

I changed the setting, but still get the same result.

 

Please do let me know if you have something different set ? Have you checked if you have not made it hidden on Views > List fields ?

If the value not making hidden the data in the list view can be seen but if it makes hidden not able to see the value in list view.
