  • 1.  Project XML file

    We are using version 14.2 and MSP2010.  I know when you open a project from Clarity into MSP in addition the .MPP file there is a .XML file created in the same folder.  When updates are done to the MSP file are they mapped to the XML file?

    If you are using the new MSP driver (see: http://www.ca.com/us/support/ca-support-online/product-content/knowledgebase-articles/tec1251693.aspx), then XML format is used to exchange information between PPM and MSP.

     

    This works both ways, data is retrieved AND sent in XML format from/to PPM. The .MPP file is only used by MSP. The transformation between current status of the project in MSP and XML occurs when clicking on the Save button.

    Thank you, Marc. We are using the new MSP driver.  The situation we had was a user opened a project from Clarity into MSP, renamed it and then renamed a prior version of the MPP file to the one from Clarity.  Upon saving back to Clarity the changes they had made in the prior version did not save back.
