I will be upgrading our Production environment from version 13.1 to 14.2 in the coming weeks.
We intend to use Business Objects for a time, as we are currently not ready just yet to configure and use Jaspersoft.
I would like to know what steps I will need to implement to successfully ensure that Business Objects continues to work for us in 14.2
Currently, on our Reports server we have CABI 3.3 installed.
In the CMC I see our version is:
So according to the 14-2 release notes, I only need to download and install Service Pack 2?
Are there are pre-upgrade steps I should be aware of or advice from other users?
You should be able to upgrade by using the supplied SP2, however, based on my experience, I would recommend you to actually perform a new install of CABI 3.3. SP2(BOXI release 3.1 SP7) and then just import any custom content you may have with BIAR files.
Upgrade may sometimes be complicated, and have unexpected issues, so new install would be more convenient. Of course this is up to you, so you can test both.
Please let me know for any questions.

Thank you Nika.
So I should uninstall my existing CABI 3.3 first and then attempt the full CABI 3.3. SP2(BOXI release 3.1 SP7) instead of just installing the SP2?
Also I cannot find CABI 3.3. SP2(BOXI release 3.1 SP7) in the download center. Does anyone have a link to where I can obtain this?
Its there on the change and impact guide.
Download and install Service Pack 2 on the CABI Release 3.3 installation.
a. Download the CABI Release 3.3 Service Pack 2 and the Release Notes from the CA FTP site:
Note: Download both the zip file and the CABI 3.3 SP2 Release Notes.
I have followed that guide before with mixed results.
i.e. install CABI Release 3.3 Service Pack 2 over the existing 3.3 installation.
CA Business Intelligence Release 3.3 SP2 - (SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 Service Pack 7) is supported with 14.2 and hence you can download the service pack from the FTP provided above.
