    Posted Nov 16, 2015 12:00 PM

    Hi,

i removed many of the rights on my user is that normal users should not able to administrate the advanced reporting just to able to see the domains

Normal users should only be able to:-

         - Navigate to Advanced reporting

         - Create Ad-hoc views

         - Create reports

         - Create dashboards

could you please tell us is there any bug or configuration mistakes ?

I can able to see the default domains only if i have Advanced reporting- Administrator global access rights.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Pruthvi

    Hi Pruthvi,

This seems to be a bug with the Jaspersoft access rights. I'll test this thoroughly and log it.

Please could you do the following workaround for now:

    1. Connect to Jaspersoft UI Console as superuser
    2. Navigate to Repository - Tenant - CA PPM - Domains
    3. Right click on Domains folder name, select Permissions
    4. Go to Users tab, and give Read + Write + Delete to the users you wish to have domain access

I'll keep you updated on my findings.

    Kind Regards

    Hi Nika,

I tried with the suggested work around for now. After this when I tried to create adhoc view I am getting the following error.

Could you please suggest what's wrong here ?

    Thanks in advance

    Regards,

    Hi Pruthvi,

I don't think your issue is caused by the access rights or any of your actions.  This seems to be a new issue.

I just checked with a user that has all the Advanced Reporting rights but Administer and was able to create and save an Ad Hoc view correctly.

Please could you see where exactly you tried saving the Ad Hoc view? Try saving it in the User's personal folder and see if that works.

When this error appears : can you check if the Ad Hoc View still gets created? Does it appear immediately after clicking on Save?

If you still can reproduce it provide your jasperserver.log from $JSTomcat\webapps\reportservice\WEB-INF\logs for review.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind Regards

    Hi Pruthvi,

For your information I have now raised a defect for your issue:

CLRT-79440 Advanced Reporting - Create Domain permission does not allow the Domain Designer user to see any existing domain unless Administer right is granted

It's currently in review by Sustaining Engineering. Please do use the workaround for the moment whilst it's not yet fixed.

    Kind Regards
