  • 1.  Maintaining total allocation hours when changing project dates

We are wondering if there is a way to maintain the total allocation hours for a project when changing the dates.  For instance, a role is allocated to a project for 10 hours a month from 1/1-6/30 for a total of 60 hours.  Someone decides the project has to be done by April, so the project and team finish dates change to 4/30.  Normally, PPM seems to reduce the total allocation by removing the months that were removed.  However, the work still needs to get done so we still need to show 60 hours of allocation. Is there a way to have PPM maintain the total allocation (60 hours) and re-distribute them across the new time span (15 hours per month instead of 10)?

I think the only way would be to increase the default allocation of the role in that project but I am not sure if system can do it automatically than PM doing it manually. Thanks, Jerin
