  • 1.  Upgrade from 13.3 to 14.2

    Hi All,

Currently we have following landscape -

    Server 1 -  Beacon, App

Server 2 - Beacon, BG, App, NSA

    Server 3 - Database

Upgrade Procedure : Upgrade Server 2 with 14.2 installation and then use 'Distribute All' option in NSA to distribute the patches on Server 1.

Is this a correct procedure to upgrade in this kind of system ?

    Hi Anant,

There are two approaches you can use

    1. Upgrade the server 1 from 13.3 to 14.2 and distribute the binaries to Server 2 using CSA

    2. Upgrade the server 1 from 13.3 to 14.2 and copy the CA PPM folder to Server 2 and make the necessary changes on the Java, tomcat and CA PPM folder.

Server 3 which is database will not need any specific action unless you are upgrading the database version, if you are upgrading CA PPM the schema upgrade will be done during the upgrade.

    Hope this helps

When you distribute to the other server it will get the updated file. If you use distribution option then you need to ensure that beacon is running. If you are using the point 2 then you need to remove the services, copy the files and then deploy again.
