  • 1.  Actual hours entered via OWB or MS-P not shown in cost plans

    Hello,

we enter actual hours spend on task direclty into MS Project/OWB. we're not using timesheets. And we didn't want to use the transaction to enter hours on tasks. The actual hours get processed correctly every where we look in Clarity, including the hours * hourly rate. The ACWP, Actuals etc get filled as expected. The problem we're facing is that these actuals are not being displayed in the cost plan or the budget plan.

The Import Financial Actuals job is running; the Post Transactions to Financials is also running and the timeslicing job.

Any idea why these actuals are not showing up in the cost plans?

    thanks,

    Mark

    Hi Mark101,

This is working as per the design.

The actuals entered thru scheduler(OWB/MSP) is not considered a financial transaction and hence it does not end up in WIP table. The cost plan gets the actuals from the WIP table.

If you have PMO installed, you should see a portlet - Posted Transaction Review. This portlet pulls data from the WIP table. Only those actuals in this portlet is expected to show up in the CP.

Actuals entered through scheduler will reflect in the assignment(ACWP) but not in the cost plan.

If you want actuals to show up in CP, it should either be entered via timesheets or transaction entry.

Hope this helps, if not please let us know your questions.

    Thanks,

    Jerin
