Not able to make Service as Inactive (13.1 version)

  • 1.  Not able to make Service as Inactive (13.1 version)

    Posted Jan 02, 2015 08:19 AM

    Dear Experts,

We are in 13.1 ,trying to make Service as Inactive but it is keeps updating Inactive to active (Due to bug in this version I am trying without making financial status  as close).

The reason why I am doing this is I want to delete this Service in prod as it is test service.

Previously , I was able to update service status as inactive without updating the  financial status.

Can you please provide some workaround /suggestion to delete this Service , I do not have edit access to database .

    Many thanks in Advance.

    Regards,

    Udaya

If you are using IE try another browser.

Is this what you are trying to do (this is in v13.2 though)

Make the service inactive while the financial status is Open?

    Works in v13.2.

    Hi Urmas,

Exactly I am looking for the same.I tried in edit mode as well as from Settings page.

I am updating as inactive then in  immediate refresh it is auto updating as Active.(I am in V13.1 , I do not have edit access to database )

    Many thanks.

    Regards,

Can you first close the service financially and then try to deactivate the service ? This is the correct order

    Hi NJ,

Due to bug in the 13.1 , we can't update Financial status in UI.

I tried to update as inactive for one service which have the financial status is closed but no luck.

May be i need to check something else and will update with my finding once it is resolved.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Udaya

As urmas has stated - "

Due to bug in the 13.1 , we can't update Financial status in UI.

Where from did you learn about the bug and what is the CRTL number of it?

    "

Have you checked the AVP settings ? Do you have the correct authorization for making the change to the financial status ?

Is this what you are referring to ?

Clarity: Post Timesheet Job incorrectly creates financial transactions for projects with Financial Status not 'Open'

Description: When a user creates a Timesheet that has ONLY time entries for a project with Financial Status = 'Hold', the Post Timesheet job does not create financial transactions which is expected. However, if you create a timesheet that has actual hours for a project that has a financial status = 'Open' and actual hours for a project that has a financial status = 'Hold' the job will incorrectly create financial transactions (for projects with any financial status not 'Open').This becomes a problem because the properties for the project have not been configured yet and now the project manager is prevented from entering a COMPANY NAME. This becomes more critical if the Clarity administrator has configured the Project Financial properties page to have a 'Value Required' option set for the COMPANY NAME. Now the end-user cannot update ANY fields on the project financial properties page because the COMPANY NAME value is NULL (by default) and the application logic prevents the end-user from changing the value with an error message 'Company Name or Billing Currency cannot be changed after transactions have been posted'. The only workaround for this configuration is for the Clarity Administrator to make an update to the PAC_MNT_PROJECTS table for the COMPANY_CODE value and then the end-user will have the ability to modify the remaining properties on the Project Financial properties page. Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Login to Clarity as an administrator

    2. Admin Tool > Studio : Objects > Project Object > Views [Fields]
Company Name (company_code) > set 'Value Required' to true
Investment Class (investment_class) > set 'Value Required' to true
WIP Class (wip_class) set 'Value Required' to true
Financial Status should have a default value = 'Hold' (OOTB)

    3. Main Application > Projects > click 'New' button
PROJECT1 : Set the Financial Department ONLY
Project Team > Add Resource1 with active financial properties
Assign the Resource1 to a few tasks on the project
Check the Project Financial Properties > Financial Status = 'Hold'
Do not fill out any project financial properties

    4. Resource1 - Create a timesheet ; only create time entries for this one project ; submit, approve, post the timesheet
Invalid Transactions page does not show any new transactions
(as expected since the project is on hold)

    5. Main Application > Projects > click 'New' button
PROJECT2 : Set the Financial Department
Project Team > Add Resource1 with active financial properties
Assign the Resource1 to a few tasks on the project
Check the Project Financial Properties > Change Financial
      Status = 'Open'
Fill out ALL project financial properties - especially the
      'Value Required' fields

    6. Resource1 - Create a timesheet ; Create a NEW timesheet with time entries for BOTH PROJECT1 (Hold) and PROJECT2 (Open).
Submit, approve and post the timesheet
Expected Result: Invalid Transactions page should show NEW entries for PROJECT2 ONLY.
Actual Result: Invalid Transactions page shows NEW entries for BOTH PROJECT1 and PROJECT2 for the Timesheet that has both projects. Navigate to PROJECT1 > Financial Properties page and attempt to update the values on the page. The application logic prevents the end-user from updating the page.
    Solution:
    WORKAROUND:
Currently, there is a workaround that allows the end-user to update the Company Code value through the Project List View. When this attribute is placed on the Project List View and the end-user updates it using the 'Edit Mode', the built-in logic that is executed in the Project Financial Properties page is not invoked and the value can be updated successfully.

    This is in v113.1

    Just click on Active

    Select no and Save

Deactivated with financial status open, but here is says

the same thing as Navz Joshi says disable financials first before deactivating.

    Hi Urmas,NJ,

We have updated  service status through database.

Something wrong in our system , it is not allowing us to make inactive after updating the financial status as closed.

    Many thanks for your help/suggestion.
