    To: CA PPM™ Customers

From: CA Technologies CA PPM Product Team

Subject: General Availability Announcement for CA PPM Release 14.1

On behalf of CA Technologies, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services.  As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that CA PPM Release 14.1 is now available.

Due to the anticipated close proximity of the 14.1 and 14.2 releases, no patches will be produced for 14.1.  Any critical fixes that are identified will be included in 14.2, which should be considered the patch for 14.1.  No fixes for 14.1 will be done outside of the 14.2 release.  Customers that elect to go live on 14.1 should have plans to go to 14.2 immediately upon its availability. Patches will then be made available according to our standard PPM Defect Resolution Policy posted on https://support.ca.com/ New features for CA PPM Release 14.1 include:

    ·         Studio Content Management

Partners and customers can use Studio to package and migrate Studio content, making deployments much easier.

    ·         Microsoft Project Improvements

Microsoft Project integration has been re-architected for faster performance and increased usability.

    ·         Integration Adaptor

On Demand customers can import third-party resource information into CA PPM.  Because our Integration Adaptor is provided with CA PPM, we maintain the integration and ensure it continues to work after upgrades.

    ·         VersionOne Integration:

CA Technologies and VersionOne have partnered to develop direct integration between CA PPM and the industry-leading Agile solution from VersionOne. With the integration, you can export project information to VersionOne and import VersionOne work items into CA PPM tasks. This integration ensures that you can track VersionOne work effort in CA PPM.

In addition, we added usability improvements and resolved over 400 customer issues.

Please note that as of the 14.1 release, the product name CA Clarity PPM has begun changing to CA PPM. The CA Clarity PPM name will continue to appear in areas of the product until the brand transition is complete in 2015.

    Just wondering again...

Can't see CA PPM at all in the downloads

    Don't see 14.1 for Clarity, just 13.X

Is it just me and my rights and do others see 14.1?

No problem with the documentation including the restricted content.

Are you looking for 14.1 under the old Clarity Creator User code?  If so, please ask your CA Rep to have your contract updated to current PPM core product code PPMCCL990.  It's free upgrade.

Good News!  Today the CA PPM VP of Product Management gave the go ahead to add 14.1 to Legacy download code Clarity Creator User.  Customers can download release on old code.  Doc has been enabled for viewing on Legacy code as well.

Please simplify contracts by using current codes on renewal.

One of the cool features which isn't very well publicised is that you can now access sub menus in other tabs

This is probably the best user improvement that has been made in this release.

    Many happy PMs

    Hi Andy,

Can You write something more how it's possible in 14.1?

    Thanks

Guess, this is what am1 is referring to -

    Change to Page Menu Behavior

The following changes improve the way menus on pages operate:

A tab menu now displays when you mouse over the tab. Previously, you clicked the

down arrow to see a tab menu. The menu closes automatically when the cursor

    moves off the menu.

Other menus (for example, Actions, Scenario, or Open in Scheduler) open when yo

    u

mouse over the menu name. In this case, the menu stays open until you click in an

    area outside the menu.

    Upgrade Action

    : None

Sadly the drop down hover over is for the current tab only!

    Change to Page Menu Behavior

    ■ A tab menu now displays when you mouse over the tab. Previously, you clicked the down arrow to see a tab menu. The menu closes automatically when the cursor moves off the menu.
