  • 1.  MSP interface (12) compatibility with Java 7

    Posted Dec 05, 2014 07:41 AM

I am finding the MSP interface v13 does not work correctly with Java 6. Before the upgrade to CA PPM 13.2 this was not an issue as v12 of the MSP seemed to work fine.

I am told we are due to upgrade to Java 7 soon, but in the meantime, if we roll out the use of the v12 MSP interface will there be any compatibility issues when we eventually reach Java 7?

In short, does v12 of the MSP interface work with Java 7?

Are you saying you would be using v12 interface with v13.2?

    That is a no-no.

    Though some people use mismatch.

    Consult support.

    phil_spratt,

urmas is right. You should be using the MSP Interface/Schedule Connect bundled with your Clarity version (you have to download it from Home > Account Settings > Software Download). v12 and v13.2 MSP interfaces are different so please do not mix.

Regarding your question with Java, v12 Schedule Connect comes with its own Java 6, but for v13.2, it will be necessary to use Java 7. Starting from Clarity v13.3, Schedule Connect installs its own private JRE so it doesn't interfere with any other Java version on the computer.

    Hope this helped
