  • 1.  CA Identity Manager error Reports folder does not exist

    Posted Dec 26, 2019 10:34 AM
    Hi Community,

I'm attempting to integrate CA Identity Manager v12.6.8 with Jasper Reports Server v6.2. When I test the connection from User Console to Jasper Server, I receive the error message "Error: [Connection] Reports Folder does not exist". I have tried to regenerate the iam.jks file by running the JasperKeyGenUtil.bat, but the error remains the same.

    Some information about my environment:

CA Identity Manager Server v12.6.8 runs in WebLogic 12.1.3, Windows Server 2012
Jasper Reports Server v6.2 runs in Apache Tomcat 8.0.5, Windows Server 2008 R2

    Please your help on this:
Does the WebLogic server need some special settings?
Does the WebLogic server store the key files (iam.jks and iam.proporties) inside some different folders?
Is there some special procedure to integrate Identity Manager running in WebLogic with Jasper Server?

I have another environment running Identity Manager and Jasper Server in the same machine and it works, but when I try to view whatever report, the IdM User Console shows message "No records found". The difference here is that IdM and Jasper run in the same machine: WebLogic 12.1.3, Windows Server 2012. As additional info, when I check the audit tables inside IdM database, they are empty. Could it be something about permissions?

I'll find useful whatever help on this.

    Thanks.

Thanks Larry, but the KB you suggested is for VApp version 14.2. I am using Identity Manager v12.6.8.

I'm going to try writing to the Enterprise Studio team of HCL.

    Regards,

    Hi Mauricio,

The document does state 14.2 however the underlying steps are the same.  One thing you need to ensure you do is restart your Weblogic server (IDM Application Server) and restart your Tomcat Server (Jasper) after you move the keystore files over.

    Thank you,
    Nicole

    Hi Nicole.

I understand your point, but what I meant is that the first steps correspond to VApp version.

About the other steps I have performed everything, including restarting both servers IdM (WebLogic) and Jasper (Tomcat).

I'm thinking about something related to database permissions. Do you know if there is something special about reching the database in WebLogic?

    Thanks,

    Hi Mauricio,

At the point your getting stuck it is having a hard time communicating with the your Jasper Server.  You need to ensure you gave the required permissions on the Jasper Server organization for IAM.

For the IAM level it can be ready only.  For the datasources level it should be read + write.

Additionally, while the KB was originally written for Virtual Appliance, the same steps can be applied here.

Integrate your Jasper Server to Identity Manager

    1.       Log into Jasper Server Web Portal and create the IAM organization

    2.       Create a new user under the IAM organization

    3.       Import the IM Standard Reports from the following location into your Jasper Server:

    /opt/CA/IdentityManager/IAM_Suite/IdentityManager/tools/imrexport/ReportDefinitions/IM Standard Reports/. {you will want to change this location to match IAM_SUITE location on your server}

Note: If your IDM database server is Oracle, import the Oracle reports.  If the Database is SQL, import the SQL reports.

    4.       Once the reports are imported, grant your access to the IAM organization.

    5.       Under View à Repository right click IAM and select permissions.

    6.       Navigate to the user tab

    7.       For the user you created, grant Read only access.  Click Apply and then okay.

    8.       Navigate to IAM --> IM --> datasources.  Right click datasources and select permissions

    9.       Navigate to the user tab

    10.   For the user you created, grant Read + Write access. Click Apply and then okay.

Copy the Keystore from the IDM Server to the Jasper Server.  This will complete integration.

    1.       On your IDM navigate to the following location {This is the location from your Weblogic Server}

    2.       Copy iam.jks and iam.properties to C:\Program Files\CA\SC\CA Business Intelligence\apache-tomcat\webapps\{webapp}\WEB-INF\config

    For Example: C:\Program Files\CA\SC\CA Business Intelligence\apache-tomcat\webapps\jasperserver-pro\WEB-INF\config

    Restart Services

    1.    restart on IDM

    2.       On the Jasper Server

    restart the tomcat services.

    Hi Nicole.

Thanks for your answer. I have performed all those steps carefuly and the symptom is the same. I think my real issue is when IdM tries to write in the audit tables; when I perform queries to see the information inside audit tables, they´re empty. Aditionaly, User Console in IdM shows "No records found" when I try to see the reports; the same happens inside Jasper Console.

Do you know if there's some special procedure for reporting in IdM version 12.6.8?

    Thanks.
