BETA invitation for the new Symantec IGA Native Federation SSO protocols support

Hi

As part of our continued effort to support industry standards, We are please to invite you to our newest BETA program where you will be able to configure Symantec Identity Manager and Identity Portal to support native federation SSO protocols without the need to use Symantec SiteMinder.

Customers will be able to configure our solution to support federation protocols like SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect as the SSO solution using their own IDP solution.

Note:
At this time, we offer only support for SAML 2.0 for Identity Manager and Identity Portal but we are going to add OpenID Connect support as-well-as Identity Governance support very soon.

Thanks Itamar.  I only see here mention IP and IDM but no IG.  Does that means IG still require to use SSO but not other SAML 2.0 compliance products?

We have read thru the Intructions for SAML 2.0 integration with IP document.
When users access IdentityPortal /sigma, it will goto IdentityProvider(Idp) for authentication, as we understand this is "SP-Initiated SSO"
Does the solution support IdentityProvider(Idp)-Initiated SSO ?

Hi Team,
I have some questions on SAML 2.0 Idp.

Let said we only want SAML 2.0 integration with Identity Portal only, where enduser login to IdentityPortal, it will goto SAML IdP for authentication.
Backend CA IM(user-console) still authenticated as normal using userstore. So in this case, we do not need to integrate SAML 2.0 with CA IM, correct ?
(End user only login via IdentityPortal, they do not access CA IM-userconsole).

That is correct.

Identity Portal can be configured with SAML 2.0 independently of Authentication module setup for Identity Manager

          Both SAML and OpenID Connect will be released as part of IGA v14.3.3. The tentative release timeline would be around the end of January 2021.
