Identity Portal does not currently have any Web Services interface that would allow tasks to be submitted to it in a similar way to IM and TEWS. You could open an Idea in the Community for this.
For the second question, since IP doesn't have an internal identifier for the task, all the approvals will not be visible in the timeline, only those that apply to the individual approvals. There doesn't seem to be any way to work around this by getting the IDM task ID, so would likely require an enhancement as well.

We have a few tasks we are submitting via TEWS, for instance create user, and we have a WF attached to it.
The approver is seeing the approval task in the Portal and can approve or reject it, but because there is no Sigma Task ID to it, the timeline is not showing all the comments and is not giving the option to track this request after it has been completed..
Is there a way to initiate the task automatically in the Portal, instead of IDM, so it will be traceable? Or maybe another solution to be able to generate an ID for the IDM task, and then all the approval tasks will be linked to it?
