Issue Connection jasper report server

    Dear team,

    Currently, We are facing a problem connecting with JasperServer.


    I am follow up on this Install and Configure CA Business Intelligence JasperReports® Server Document.  

    Please any help on this Issue?

    Hi Sudip,

    You need to ensure the following:

    1. Copied your iam.jks and iam.properties files from your IDM server to your Jasper Server.  
    2. Once those files are copied restart both tomcat and IDM. 
    3. Confirm that your idmadmin user has access to the IAM organization within Jasper Server
    4. Confirm that you imported the correct standard reports from your IDM server into your Jasper Sever. 
    5. Confirm that you appropriately set permissions for the organization on the Jasper Server.

    Hi Sudip,

    You will want to ensure that the two servers can communicate with each other.  From your IDM server can you telnet over to your jasper server on port 8080?  From your IDM server, are you able to ping your jasper server?

    Yes, Communication also Fine with each other.
    From IDM to Japser Server Telnet

    From IDM to Japser Server Ping

    Still, I am not able to do connection?

    Hi Sudip,

    Is this a production/non-production deployment with an external database or are you using embedded Oracle database?  If you are using the embedded Oracle database you need to add database_srv to your Jasper Server's host file.

    This is for non-production. And we are using MSSQL as a database.

    Hi Sudip,

    In Jasper, Please make sure your organization is called IAM and not something else.
    Also right-click on the datasource and choose edit or properties, and make sure you're using the driver for MSSQL, the correct server name and port, and the credentials are also correct.

    Few more ideas:
    - Inspect tomcat logs for the error observed when IM is trying to test the connection
    - Inspect IM server logs (in debug mode) when trying to test the connection
    - Confirm the communication from Jasper to IM server is working (OS firewall etc)
    - Edit the Report server URL and try testing with a trailing / at the end

    yes, I found this type of error message.

    So - http 403 means user is not authorized.
    Can you confirm you are able to open jasper console (the exact URL as entered in IM) and use idmadmin / password / IAM organization to successfully view IM Reports folder?
    Please share the screenshot once logged in

    Dear Herald,

    Yes, due to the version.
    I am using Vapp 14.3 and jasper server 7.1.1.

    To support this version either we need to update the cp1 patch in 14.3 or need to install below version of the jasper report server.

    While view log I found this error message.
    I enable Key generation On. Still, we faced the same error message.
    # Turns request parameter validation on or off.
    security.validation.input.on=true
    # Turns CSRF attack guard on or off.
    security.validation.csrf.on=true
    # Turns sql validation on or off.
    security.validation.sql.on=true

    If you are receiving 403 error in the logs it may be you are trying to connect IDM 14.3 to Jasper Server 7.1.1.
