When a password reset is captured in AD and synchronized upstream to IDM, IDM will in turn propagate the new password to every endpoint where the user has an account, and the propagate password change is set on the endpoint definition.
It seems to me that you have an Event-type email notification set for password change events. One place to start looking is in the management console -> Environment --> Advanced Settings --> Email, then look also under System --> Email configuration in the IDM management UI.
