  • 1.  Identity Manager - Inbound Notification Configuration

    Posted Dec 26, 2019 05:52 AM
    Hi Team,

From the documentation, it says, OOTB, Provisioning Server pushes ALL inbound notifications to the Identity Manager.

Would like to understand in what circumstances this option need to be configured?

If configured, what's the impact to those notifications not sent to the Identity Manager?

Any recommendation/best practice for this configuration?

    Thank you.

Any changes initiated from the Identity Manager server need to receive a response back from the Provisioning Server when an operation is completed so that IM can report whether the task or event completes or fails.

Perhaps there are others in the communities who have experience in doing this and we invite them to comment here also.

Another option may be to reach out to our partner HCL Technologies to see in what way they can assist further. The Enterprise Studio team of HCL can be reached at enterprisestudio@hcl.com. https://www.hcltech.com/enterprise-studio

I can think of the below

    • If you want to propagate the changes from endpoints to IM Userstore which are detected through explore and correlate of the endpoints
    • If you want to propagate the password changed on endpoint(AD) to IM userstore which are pushed by password synch agent installed on AD domain controller.

    Thanks,

Any submitted Task and its Events initiated from the Identity Manager server need to receive a response back from the Provisioning Server when an operation is completed so that IM can report whether the task or event completes or fails.

In case if IM do not receive the response of any event from Provisioning Server, then it will keep that Submitted TASK and event in progress state for infinite time. And this can cause increase of in coming request queue upto N number and in worst case it will stop progressing new in coming requests
