  • 1.  CA Identity Manager 14.1 is failing to connect to database

    Hi,

     

    I am trying to install CA Identity Manager 14.1 version in my local environment. We have database already installed on the environment and able to connect to the database by using the sql developer tool which oracle provides to test the connection.

     

    While installing the CA identity Manager 14.1 I am giving the same database details where Identity Manager is giving error that it is unable to connect to database. Is there any way I can test the connection of how IM is trying to connect to database.

    Hello Rajesh,

     

    Identity Manager is looking for Administrative privileges. This is needed to make the necessary adjustments to the database for creating/modifying tables. What version of the database are you attempting to connect to. When using Oracle as the database, be sure to use another user other then "Sys" as this user is not allowed.

    Greetings..!

     

    We are using Oracle 12C database 12.2 and yes we have created another account with name imuser for login which has admin privilages for creating/modifying tables. Followed the below steps mentioned in the installation document

     

    Create an Oracle Database Instance Follow these steps:
    Create a new tablespace.
    Create a new user.

    Grant the user rights to the new database.
    Create/alter/drop tables
    Create/alter/drop view
    Create/alter/drop INDEX
    Create/replace/drop stored procedures
    Create/replace/drop functions
    Create/drop sequence
    Create/replace/drop triggers
    Create/replace/drop types
    Insert/select/delete records
    CREATE SESSION / connect to database
    Give DBA rights to the user.

    As per the platform support matrix, Oracle 12C R2 is not supported with IDM 14.1.

    Hi Ashok,

    I am facing same issue with CA IDM 14.2 and MSSQL 2017. Can you please suggest how to resolve this issue?

    Error:
    Cannot connect to database with provided information.
