  • 1.  IDM: Recompiling JSPs under JBoss EAP

The wiki for Identity Manager 12.6 SP6 contains a lot of the same content as previous versions of IDM, even though JBoss 5.1.0 is no longer a supported application server.  This is especially obvious as you descend into less-frequented corners of the documentation, such as the User Console branding guide.

The instructions for how to recompile the JSP files (a necessary step under JBoss) indicate that you should run the script compile_jsp.bat / compile_jsp.sh, which is in the JBoss bin directory (https://wiki.ca.com/display/CIM12606/Compile+the+CA+Identity+Manager+JSPs).  However, that directory does not contain either of the mentioned scripts.

Is recompiling still necessary?  If so, where are the scripts installed now?

    Hi Eric

For newer version of jboss it is not needed to recompile.

Jboss 6 and newer do automatic recompile when needed.

Just drop the files into the filesystem and everything (should) go automatic.

    Cheers, Atle

I guess the new question, then, is whether I should make a comment on the wiki, or open a documentation case with support?  (Both?)

Comment on the wiki for the missing information re JBoss 6 asking to correct the information currently in place has just been added.

Note: sometimes, you will be required to clear JBoss tmp folder /standalone/tmp/work/ (by moving it to a backup location outside JBoss structure.
