  • 1.  Predifined Model Configuration

    Hello Community,

We have Spectrum 10.4.1. Usually, we add devices and apply them the same monitoring configuration (disk space percent,RAM, etc)  based on the device.

Is is posible to set on spectrum a predetermined monitoring configuration so it applies automatically to a device after we add or model the device? So we don't to do this manually over and over again?

    Regards,

    Jose Pichardo

    Jose,

There are a few options here.

If these are workstation models that support the host resources mib, you can create Monitoring Rules. Reference https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/spectrum/10-4-1/managing-network/host-system-resources-management/working-with-monitoring-rule-sets.html

You can create Global Collections and then apply a Policy Rule to the Global Collection that will set and enforce the attribute values on the models that are members of the Global Collection. Reference https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/spectrum/10-4-1/managing-network/policy-manager.html

You can run use the Attribute Editor to set the value and then set it as the default value so any new models of the same type that get created automatically have that value set.
