  • 1.  CAPC Global Search no longer global

    We recently upgraded CAPC to version 20.2.10 and it seems the product designers decided to wreck one of the most useful features, Global Search.

    Search and Filter in NetOps Portal

    "By default, the global search is set to search only device and interface names that contain the search string (Scope: Names)."

    Well if it narrows the search to only look at 2 fields instead of all managed items like it used to then by definition the search is no longer global. We still have a "Scope: All" option to change it back but unfortunately it defaults to "Scope: Names".

    To make it even worse sometimes the Chrome browser will flip the "All" scope back to "Names" after you hit the search button. Our users really hate this change. Please tell me there's a way to set the default to "Scope: All".

    In 20.2.10, you should be able to run this to make it default to Scope: All for all users.

    While in a session it keeps the last used scope until changed or re-login.

    replace into netqosportal.general values ('GlobalSearch.Default.SearchType', 'all');
