Let's Re-name those real-time test components

DX NetOps 21.2.6 extends the alias capabilities in NetOps portal to include real-time test components. Aliases let you provide meaningful, business oriented and readable names for monitored items. While we have long provided the ability to define the same for devices and interfaces, and now we are allowing this for the following couple of Most popular test types:

• Response Path Test UDP Jitter
• Response Path Test ICMP Jitter

In these scenarios its help associate reading the real-time tests your monitoring with the paths beings tested by assigning descriptive names. Just like going from point A – B.

It's simply:

1. Go to the context page for the test
2. Click Edit Properties
3. Specify the Alias and click Save.

Now the context page shows something everyone understands in your IT organization.

You can also use the NetOps Portal APIs to assign component aliases. We made sure the friendlier names are present in reports too. Otherwise on the UI they will pleasantly appear according to user settings regarding display names.
