Hello All,
Attribute "Device Type Name" value of OID was updated from "Auto" to its "Actual Value" in Device Certification utility in CA Spectrum.
"Actual Value" was reflecting in Device Certification Table. There was one device mapped to this OID. This device was in maintenance when the update of "Device Type Name" was performed.I moved the device back to maintenance and performed the "reconfigure model" activity.
The device was back to Normal Condition. After few cycle of polling by the Spectrum to device, "Actual Value" of "Device Type Name" attribute was not reflected.
Could you please let me know why "Actual Value" of "Device Type Name" attribute was not reflected after ?
Any assistance on this is greatly appreciated.

Hello Silvio/Jason
Thanks much for the response.
I want to update the Device Type Name, Model Type Name & Model Class attributes using Device Certification utility wherever they have values as "Auto".
I want to understand consequences of it. I am curious and want to know will it increase number of alarms for that particular OID or will there be any other issues/problems.
Sequence that i am planning to follow in Device Certification for a particular OID:
1. Update Model Class (From the drop down select Switch/Router/Switch-Router/Firewall/LoadBalancer)
2.Update Model Type Name(From the Drop Down, select the respective value)
3. Update Device Type Name with actual Device Type Value.
Any assistance on this is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Sachin MS

Hi Sachin,
I do not see any "Auto" value in the Model Type column. The "Auto" value is visible in the Model Class column.

- Model Class
Identifies the model class (such as Router, Switch-Router, or Port) for the device model. If no model class is mapped to the system OID, "Auto" is displayed.

Hello All,
When the device is modeled in CA Spectrum, some of the attributes like Device Type Name, Model Type gets populated as "Auto" value in Device Certification.
Can you please let me know what "AUTO" in Device Certification translates to when the device is actually Modeled.
Any assistance on this is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
