    Hi world,

we a facing a problem when discovering a device on Spectrum 10.2.3.

The new device has an ip which in former times existed on another device. We changed the ip on the old device.

But discovering the new device we get the message, the device wouldn't be reachable by snmp (See the attached picture):

    Spectrum Error on discovering
But the ip is reachable by snmp an answering request from CLI.
Is there a possibility to reset the snmp cache on Specrum?
I guess the ip is still in the cache and I have to clear it.
    Thank you very much.
    Kind regards,
    Rudi

    Rudi,

I would start a sniffer on the SS system and try to model. Then take a look at what Spectrum sent and how the device reponds.

    Hi Rudi,

Wild guess here, but I faced it not long ago.
Check if, for some reason, the folder /opt/CA/SharedComponents has been deleted.

    Regards.

    Hi Joe and hi Marcelo,

    thank you for the help.

I could resolve it by dicovering the device first as pingable, then deleting it again.
Then I was able to discover is normally using the snmp protocol.

Many thanks a please continue to be active in this Community.

Another option I've had some success with in this case is manually adding the device by model type.  Once the model is created but still in an initial state, you can run "Reset SNMP v3 Authentication" and it should go green.
