  • 1.  CA Peformance Management - Identify Interfaces in Trunk mode

    Posted Aug 16, 2019 07:16 AM
Wondering if anyone has any experience / tips, in CA Performance Management (v3.6), as to how to only show (LAN) interfaces which are in trunk mode, in a multi-vendor environment (Cisco, Alcatel, HP, Enterasys...)

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi Jose,

Maybe discover them with "Alternate Interfaces" Metric Family (MF) by adding it to the Device's associated Monitoring Profile (MP).

Then you should see them listed (if they're discovered) under "Device Components"

Hi Mohammed, thanks for the reply. After following your advice I'm still struggling as I'm unable to identify trunk port status of the devices monitored.

For a specific switch for which we know what ports are in Trunk Mode, under "Device Components", all of the switch's ports are displayed classified as "Alternate Ports" with no column available to identify whether the port is trunking or not.

    Hi José,

You can use the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.46.1.1.14 to check that:

    Hi Marcelo,

Thanks for the reply. The specified OID is CISCO specific if I'm not mistaken. We're looking for a vendor agnostic solution, through CA Performance Management, to display performance stats for ports in Trunk Mode only.
