    Hi Uchira,

Why don't you use either icmp or net_connect probes to ping?

    Hi Silvio,

My actually requirement is  get an alarm executing a script. currently customer get alarms using Nagios by running exit code. it gives alarm.
    ex:- 1 - up
            0 - down
like wise, how to do this using CA UIM ?

    Thank you,
    Uchira.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the response.

I was go through this given link i didn't get much idea from this,

Customer is currently using nagios and through nrp they are executing some commands and based on the output exit code ( 0, 1 , 2) they create alarms.

We are going to replace this with ca uim. Can we get a support from broadcom team to do this? Just one example with a suitable probe will enough for me to carry out other operations.

    Hi

    Sorry typo in earlier doc

For the profile created in logmon to test this
General ->Mode ->change to "command" instead of "cat"

    Under Watcher rules

    Message to send on match

Here you can put your own custom message( ping failed to host xxxxx) relevant to your use case or/and else type $ and it will show the variables you can add if required for addtional information
