Alarm with custom Symptom, Probable Cause, Recommended Action

Setup monitoring on a File System for Disk Threshold and what I realize I need is a custom alarm/event where the Symptoms, Probable Cause, and Recommended actions are specific for a specific server so our NOC can follow specific actions for the specific server only. 

 

Event is Disk Threshold Exceeded so there is the following events

0x00c40031 Minor   Disk Threshold Exceeded 

0x00c40032 Major    Disk Threshold Exceeded 

0x00c40033 Critical   Disk Threshold Exceeded 

 

Would I use an Event Condition for this?  And does it keep the standard alarm from being triggered?

Hi Jon,

                Yes, that should work.  You would just need to have the event rule trigger on that model name which would then generate a different event.  Then in your event configuration, have that different event generate a different alarm and in that different alarm you can put the detailed text of what you want done.
