In my current environments, I have the following servers.
One SS, MLS, Linux
One OC, Linux
One DSS, Linux
I am trying to install a new SS on windows 2012 and installation is failing. I am able to see the following in the Post-installation logs
Migration file dbsavefile.SSdb was not found or is not readable.
I have tried to use SCP to open control Panel, but some dlls appear to missing.
What version of CA Spectrum are you trying to install?
If this is a fresh installation (not an upgrade or migration) where there is no file in the target directory, it was not supposed to claim about dbsavefile.SSdb.
Did you follow this guide?
Installing CA Spectrum - CA Spectrum - 10.2 to 10.2.2 - CA Technologies Documentation
I am trying to install 10.2. This is a fresh install.
This looks like an issue with the Visual C++ libraries on the system. Check the windows event logs and you should see errors as below:
Faulting application name: SSdbload.exe, version: 10.2.0.0, time stamp: 0x586f90d8 Faulting module name: MSVCP120.dll, version: 6.3.9600.18438, time stamp: 0x57ae642e Exception code: 0xc0000135 Fault offset: 0x00000000000ecdd0
If you see the same errors as above, then verify if the C++ Libraries are installed on the machine. You will have to manually install it from the below location:
SPECROOT\Install-Tools vcredist_x64: This is for Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) - 12.0.30501.
Note : There are multiple installs and run the one which you need.
- Once the libraries are installed, make sure you reboot the server and run the install again. This time it should be successful.
Thank You Tarun for your help.
