  • 1.  Are you monitoring Palo Alto devices in CAPC?

We have multiple Palo Alto devices in our environment.  It appears we are able to get utilization statistics for physical interfaces, ethernet 1/4, however we are not seeing statistics for aggregated interfaces such as ae2.  Is anyone else having this issue?  I

    Hi Skip,

I am not sure that the out of the box Palo Alto Certifications provide for aggregated interface statistics.

Do you see any certifications for the Palo Alto devices that show metrics that suggest the type of data being sought if we browse here?

    Data Aggregator Certification Portal

Is the data you're seeking to report against available in the MIB data from Palo Alto devices?

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Thanks Michael,
I reached out to Palo Alto and it appears they have a bug where they are not sending performance statistics via SNMP on aggregated interfaces.  They are working on a fix for future PAN OS release.

    Hi Skip,

That is great to hear. Good to know there is a solution pending for a future release of the devices software.

Once that is fixed, and the data is present in the MIB, we can end up reporting on it in CAPM.

If we don't see data for it, it may end up needing a new certification or a custom cert, but at least it is possible at that point.

Thanks for reaching out to the vendor and posting a response for the community here. We do appreciate it.
