    Good afternoon

We have a number of modeled Cisco 3850 switches that are in the Cisco IOS family. Some of the capture the switch configuration fine through both our configured Global Sync Task or manually. However, some of the newer devices fail, stating that the FTP capture doesn't work.

We configured FTP on the Spectro Server (per CA instruction manual) and the FTP site works, but the same 3850 switches still fail with a new error (see attachement).

Could we please have some assistance as to why there is a difference between the same Cisco devices, but more importantly assistance on a resolution.

    Thank you

    Paul Ja.

    Hey Paul,

We sometimes see this when the device times out.

You can try increasing the DCM Timeout value to see if it helps.

This is off the device model information tab.

    Thanks,

    Matt

    hi

please check the log files in the path C:\win32app\Spectrum\NCM\logs\debug , this will show you why failed (could be timeout so you increase the DCM as Matthew suggest ,

    Regards

    Thank you

It was a timeout issue, adjusting the default time to higher solved the problem.

    Many thanks
