  • 1.  Blank status in Polled Metric Families

    I encountered a situation where in some devices, on the "Monitored Devices" page on the tab "Polled Metric Families" the status field is blank for some families.

    This occurs even after I use the "Update Metric Families".

     

    I am using Performance Center 2.5

     

    Has anyone had a similar problem?

     

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Does there seem to be any pattern to the type of device?

    I cant found any pattern.

    I have this behavior in several different models.

    And i have devices of the same model that are working fine.

     

    I have a support case to check this.

    I will update this once i have some news.

    The answer to the case was:

    The device is capable of supporting the information contemplated in the metric family, but does not have the feature active and does not respond via SNMP to the necessary OIDs.

    So the status is blank.

     

    I still think this is an error, the status could be something like "not configured" or even "supported" not blank.

    Thanks for posting up the solution. Glad to hear you figured out the cause when it wasn't very clear or obvious.

     

    That is a great idea for improving the status values. An Idea post here in the Communities to promote that idea isn't a bad idea... (thats a lot of 'ideas'!).
