Debug DC collect using mvelInfo

  • 1.  Debug DC collect using mvelInfo

    Posted Mar 04, 2016 08:02 AM

I'm trying to debug DC collecting using mvelInfo function. I don't seem to get it working, as the validation of the expression kicks out my expression.

    Anyone has a working example?

    Thanks!

    Hello Catalin,

Did you ever get answers for this?

Do I understand the question correctly? You're trying to use mvelInfo to review DC Debug log messages of some kind?

    Thanks,

    Mike

I was able to get my expression working, without having to debug it further. I still haven't found a working example for debug, so I guess the question still remains.

Can you pass along an example or two of what you've tried, and what, if any errors were seen attempting this?

    Hello CatalinF

Were you getting a message such as "Failed to evaluate expression"?

If so, if you need to use this again and have not tried so already, try using curly braces vs square brackets as in the following example:

    mvelInfo({"cbQosInterfaceName=",cbQosInterfaceName," cbQosCMName=",cbQosCMName," cbQosPolicyName=",cbQosPolicyName})

    Hi

I have exactly this same problem. mveldebug does not show u values as in manual but just prints out the statement. What is wrong with it?

    Hello @Hub_KL,

    The documentation has been corrected:

Functions and Global Variables - CA Performance Management - 3.1 - CA Technologies Documentation

    Can you provide:

       1) The version of CA PM you are using

       2) An example of what you are using that is not working?

    Best Regards

Im using mvelInfo mvelDebug to look on the variables but I get nothing in karaf.log

    mvelInfo(["value=", value,"ip=",ip])

I tryed version with [] and {}  as it changes depends which doc u are reading.

    I'm using CAPM 3.1

If there is an error in the expression this currently results in no output in the log in currently released versions.

You can enable additional logging per the following documentation:

    https://docops.ca.com/ca-performance-management/3-1/en/troubleshooting/vendor-certification-expression-is-erroneous

    I was using

    list=[0,1]; list[0]="IfXTableMib filter snmpget "; list[1]=response.error; mvelInfo(list);

and it still works in 3.1

    yes, on the DC.

    For example:
