    In the component details of my modeled devices, I have included some information in  the notes field.  It possible to include this information in the SETSCRIPT that Spectrum uses to generate an alert?

    Out of the box, Spectrum passes about 20 or so different variables to the AlarmNotifier scripts. Model name, network address, model handle, model type handle to name a few. The user can configure to pass additional attributes from Spectrum to the AlarmNotfier scripts using the "EXTRA_ATTRS_AS_ENVVARS" or "EXTRA_ATTRS_AS_ARGS" parameters in the the .alarmrc file. Reference "Passing CA Spectrum Attributes to Scripts" section of the "AlarmNotifier User Guide" for more details.

    For the Notes field, the attribute id is 0x11564.

    Is the Notes Field attribute to be placed in the "EXTRA_ATTRS_AS_ENVVARS or EXTRA_ATTRS_AS_ARGS in the .alarmrc? I'm guessing EXTRA_ATTRS_AS_ARGS

    The Notes field attribute can be palced in either/or. It does not matter. It's up to the user.

    Thanks.  I have the attribute in the

    EXTRA_ATTRS_AS_ARGS=0x0023000e,0x129e7,0x11564

    Do I need to restart anything?

    You will need to restart the AlarmNotifier to pick up the change in the .alarmrc file.

    Here are a couple more references for using the "EXTRA_ATTRS_AS_ENVVARS" and "EXTRA_ATTRS_AS_ARGS" parameters.
