  • 1.  FIlter possibility for IM 2.2 <--> Spectrum element sync ?

    Hi All,

    we want to connect IM 2.2 with Spectrum and use the automatic element/discovery synchronization mechanism. The problem is, that we don't want to have all the devices from Spectrum in our IM 2.2 installation. Is there a way to filter the sync mechanism in any way, let's say filter on certain global collections or only certain landscapes ?

    Thanks & Greetings,

    Benjamin

    With the current implementation of Spectrum as a datasource of CA PC you really don't have control of this; however, that is changing. In the Aristotle and Meadowlands release there are two particular points of control.

    The first is Spectrums support of IP Domains, whether you use only the default IP domain or multiple domains this give you control on the Spectrum side to choose which devices will be synch'ed to CA PC. When Spectrum is added as a datasource to CA PC IP Domains from CA PC will be pushed to Spectrum, and within Spectrum a new model will be created called an IP domain. This model is derived from Global Collection so you'll be able to configure the rules you need to include/exclude specific devices.

    On the Data Aggregator side those devices that are pushed from CA PC to DA will be added to system controlled discovery profiles. In the event that an IP from Spectrum which you don't want ends up in DA you'll be able to edit the discovery profile, and prevent DA from discovering it.
