    Hi Team,

We are connecting UBUNTU server as GUI (RDP) from CAPAM. we are getting a lag with the mouse and keyboard response while accessing Ubuntu machines in CAPAM.

OS : Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.

And also Issue is with GUI mode only and SSH works fine. We are connecting to JS using XRDP on an XFCE4 Desktop. The CAPAM is in AWS environment.

Can anyone help for this issue?

    Thanks

I would doubt that CA PAM is the issue. Have you tested windows machines connecting from similar networks? the XRDP implementation is not as good as native windows rdp but if CA PAM was having an issue with RDP protocol I would expect it to affect both windows and linux xrdp. The most likely factor in this type of performance issue is networking. Check the speeds on both sides of the CA PAM appliance.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

The normal windows servers are working fine. we are facing the issue with only UBUNTU for RDP session. If we connect UBUNTU as SSH then it is working fine. So can it be CAPAM issues while connecting UBUNTU server or it is the networking issue?

    Thanks

You cannot compare a text based connection protocol with a GUI.ssh should always be faster that RDP. It is also not fair to compare windows RDP and XRDP. XRDP does transfer the data with RDP protocol but that data stream starts as a VNC connection local and is translated to RDP. The CA PAM appliance can slow connections down as a proxy and if recording is involved but that would be even across the same protocol. Most likely your performance concerns start at the xrdp machine itself.
