Report/Discover on Applications based on REG Key

Hi,
How can I report/Discover assets software based on reg keys.

For example, .Net4.8 is installed as feature in Win10-1909, and cannot be discovered by signature  or Heuristic Scans..

From the 'Create New Release' dialog, go to the Recognition tab then click the 'Advanced' button at the bottom. On the 'Advanced Recognition Parameters' dialog, click the 'Registry' tab.

I see "Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 SDK   4.8.03928" listed under my Heuristic discovered software.

Hi Steve P,

It picks up on our Signature scan but not heurisitic.
And on Signature scan its not reporting all computers, therefore we were looking for a REG scan option.
If I run a query on Signature scan , I pick about 33 devices (using CA provided signature), which is only showing some computers. We did verify Win10 release id's, which range from 1703-1809 (for 33 devices).

Win10 rel1909, has 4.8 built in. but this does not reflect in DSM reporter/query, and is not part of 33 above.

I took a look at the CA provided signature as .NET 4.8 was not being detected on my system and have asked the content team to review the registry key they use to detect.

 

FYI.

 

If you look at one of the VA provided .NET signatures you can use that as a template for creating you own.

We have published a new signature. Please run the CIC download from the Engine job. Wait a while, then trigger the AM Agent to collect software inventory.

What can use in the value field , or can it be left blank.

In the registry, its set to default with no value.
