we're trying to implement a solution so that our users can confirm the job before execution.
We tried out a few job execution options and achieved the following:
- Confirmation message shows for users
- Users can postpone within a given time frame
- We are considering if we want the job to just time out if the max time is reached or if the installation should run
One of our main dilemmas considering the transparency for the users is that we can't say: "When you see the message, you've 2 days time during which you can postpone!" because the timer starts running with the activation time of the job and not after the first time the message is shown.
We've considered using software policies that check when the agent was "alive" the last time, so the activation time is at least fairly close to the online time of the agent. But we're worried that too many jobs might be generated for Client Automation to deal with.
Does anybody have an idea how to implement this best?
And where could I drop a feature request that enables the user to choose a time/date for installation within a certain time frame (comparable to the options with Windows Update)? :-)
