    Hi,

anybody running DsmMsSqlOpt.bat on Windows 2019? For me it fails directly on checking SQL version. Has the syntax changed?

    D:\Program Files (x86)\CA\DSM\database\mdb_install\mssql>DsmMsSqlOpt.bat -maxfrag=30
    2021-05-26 20:32:23,40 DsmMsSqlOpt started
    check MS SQL Server version
Sqlcmd: '-S': Missing argument. Enter '-?' for help.
Unable to check MS SQL Server version
    script aborted

    Regards
    Joakim

There is a new version of the script on the 14.5 release.

    Hi Joakim,

Sorry, i was out for a few days holiday!

At a minimum you must specify the name of the server hosting the MDB or "Local". E.G: ".\DsmMsSqlOpt.bat local"

    Thanks Steve,

giving local as argument worked just fine!

Is it necessary to stop caf prior to running the script?

If you are running the Enterprise version of SQL Server then it's not necessary, but you will get better results if CAF is stopped.
