The software content download job runs correctly. Where does CIC store the software definitions / signatures that one can see in DSM Explorer? I see in CIC conf file it has the mdb details. Does it get stored in the mdb and if so does anybody know the table name?
Thanks a lot
PS CIC might not even be relevant??
The signatures are stored in the :

I will have a look at the table. I'm chasing a problem where Windows 10 version xxxxx gets a wrong class_id from the asset converter in the .xiu files. The result is that in DSM Explorer on the computer overview TAB it just shows "Windows" instead of say Windows 10 Enterprise Edition x64.
You've helped already
That has nothing to do with signatures. What version of Client Auto are you using. You either need to be on 12.9 WITH THE Win10 patch or version 14 of client auto.

I agree with you. The problem lies with the asset converter they are using. I'm just trying to understand where the asset converter "looks" when it assigns a class_id to a discovered computer's OS. This problem (as I have tested) is on 12.9, 12.9-patched as well as 14.0
If using IT CM 12.9 have a look at this document that details which fixes are needed
ITCM 12.9 Windows 10 patches
I have applied those patches and it does NOT resolve the issue we are having. In DSM Explorer, if you look at either the "Inventory" or "Software" TABs of a computer, then Windows 10 OS is correct. It is only on the Overview Tab that it just shows Windows.
Starting my VM will post a pic just now.
as you know SE is already working on this via our support case. can we cloe this thread for now and update it with the fix number when we have it
Definitions are in the ca_class_def but I have no idea how the asset collector gets it.
Hi there Richard,
OK sure I understand. I'm just trying to learn how this works for my own knowledge and this is ideal platform. Otherwise I'm going to keep buggin you

I marked Richard's answer as Correct so that closes the thread.
Embarrassed here, new to communities. How do I close my thread / discussion?
Tried searching in help.
