  • 1.  CA's strategy for NRI for 2016 and beyond

    Hello all.

We are using the Non Resident Inventory component here to assist with the discovery of our server infrastructure (approximately 45000 hosts globally).  We use a selection of custom and OOTB data attributes to drive a number of initiatives.
The NRI component is a key part of our service delivery so we are very keen to understand a little more about CA's strategy for NRI for 2016 and beyond.

Some key questions that we would like to understand are :

    1. Will NRI continue to be made available as a separate component?

    2. What's on the road-map for new discovered solutions?  New OS attributes, New software products?  Virtualization?,  Storage (LUNs etc)?, Provenance data?

    3. Will there be any changes to the licensing and support model for the product ?

    4. Any other strategic or architectural changes planned for 2016 and beyond?

Any information would be much appreciated?

    Thanks

    Hello,

We intend to continue the NRI support in the future but I don't foresee major enhancements to server/storage inventory attributes. There are no planned licensing, support or architectural changes for the product however our intent is to remediate some bottlenecks in current architecture (e.g.: intelligent patch delivery in upcoming Mercury release that reduces footprint of patches downloaded to agents).
