Software Contents Download job error

  • 1.  Software Contents Download job error

    Hi All,

     

    I am getting Default software contents download job error after each run. After checking the logs in CIC folder, I fount the below eror:

     

    Error detected in checkACMEStatus_1_0 args=[applicationId="B1B13849-08D1-4DA6-91EA-2D278E5F00CC"]

    I have no idea, how to troubleshoot it and The software contents are showing 20 days old.

     

    CA IT Client Automation Version is 12.8.

     

    Any help would be appreciable.

    Hi,

     

    Can you see in <path of ca installation>CA\SC\CIC\conf the archive config.xml?

     

    Have you got in <content_server_connection_properties> the parameters:

    <proxyName>***.***.***.***</proxyName> (replace your proxy for the ***)

    <proxyPort>8080</proxyPort> (replace with your port proxy)


    Configured?

    Hi,

     

    Can you review the the configuration report (configuration policy) of your Domain

     

    Can you check in DSM --> Manager --> Software Content Download

     

    What is in this policy?

    Hi Wasique,

     

      Is it a ITCM Domain or Enterprise manager ?

    Check which port is opened by pasting the below links in IE. Check the same port is configured under configuration policy.

    Also check the proxy added in configuration policy is reflecting in config.xml

     

    http://contentupdate.ca.com:443/igsponsor

    http://contentupdate.ca.com:5250/igsponsor

     

    If config.xml has the same proxy added in configuration policy , got to

    CA\SC\CIC\Bin in command prompt and type Run.bat ..Press enter. Did you see any error here ?

    Its a ITCM Domain manager.

    http://contentupdate.ca.com:5250/igsponsor port is opened.

    Also config.xml has same proxy added in configuration policy. Below is the result of Run.bat:

    Hi Wasique,

     

              Exception: com.ca.itechnology.iclient.IclHTTPException: 403 Forbidden - 403 Forbidden  is a network error at proxy level  . The proxy should accept basic authentication only . The log shows that you are using proxy : http-proxy.corporate.ge.com.This particular proxy needs basic authentication to access the content server . Please check with you network/proxy team .

    Hi

     

    You need to check with your network team that your proxy supports basic authentication. If it does not then you cannot use this proxy with Patch Manager.

    I could see that port 5250 is used :

    Server -   URL: contentupdate.ca.com/141.202.248.110  Port: 5250  Https: true

     

    Maybe this port is blocked on proxy server.

    You could try the port 443.

    You could change it in the configuration policy under DSM/Manager/Software Contents Download/Content Download Port

    I am having a problem updating content as well.  I am wondering if it is the problem in the picture.  Our proxy blocks certificates that are outdated and it looks like the certificate on contentupdate.ca.com expired on 7/15/2015.

    Yes for the expired certificate problem an issue has been opened and we are working on it.

    The certificate will be renewed soon (I hope next week).
